A couple of months ago I gave you all a little sneaky peek into an awesome project I've been working on for a very interesting client with a pretty different brand and service. Something I hadn't even heard of until recently ... an escape room. What's an escape room I hear you say? Well they are a type of physical adventure game where a group of people are locked in a room and have to use elements within the room to solve a number of puzzles, find clues and escape within a set time frame. Think Crystal Maze but without Richard O'Brien helping you out.
Cryptology is an unforgettable experience right in the heart of Nottingham City Centre and is perfect for those who love solving problems and deciphering riddles. It's safe to say no designer (especially geek over here) wouldn't find this project fun to work on!
The early stages of a branding project are categorically my favourite part of the process especially working on a mood board when you start to see everything come together and the ideas start flowing and I can definitely say there were ideas a plenty with this one.
In the end we decided to go with a clean, simple vector based look and feel with plenty of geometric patterns and shapes but also brought in elements related to it's unique proposition. with mazes, locks and keys a plenty.
This was a ridiculously fun project to work on and Mark was an absolute pleasure to work with. Fun, creative and very passionate. I for one cannot wait to visit Cryptology very soon, even if I do end up stuck in the room until the end of time!
